Hasbro Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee

My son loves Bumblebee from the Transformers movie. I have been debating which toy to get him. The Ultimate Bumblebee Transformer is around $100-120 and currently has a rating of 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon. For the ultimate Transformer fan this could be the ticket! Below is a review of the Transformer Toy.

The Ultimate Transformer:

If you ever get hooked on an action movie like the “Transformers”, probably you have wished to have one of the warrior characters such as the ultimate bumblebee. Of course who won’t drool over this amazingly crafted transformer toy? The ultimate bumblebee is incredibly detailed with awesome new designs, evolved from the classic bumblebee action figure. Though it not that much articulated, but the ultimate bumblebee will definitely make a fantastic collector’s item and display piece.
The ultimate bumblebee is one of the largest transformers toys in the market, standing up to more than 14 inches in height when in robot mode. It represents the New Bumblebee Camaro form with fantastic add-on features such as the ability to react with lights, pre-recorded sounds and pre-set moves with just a push of a button. It also boasts Devo’s “Whip It”. Physically, the ultimate bumblebee does not have die-cast parts, which is actually great. It is heavy enough even with the fact that it is all plastic. Though the ultimate bumblebee is made of plastic, its craftsmanship is top notch and is sturdy. The choice for all-plastic composition is brilliant as sometimes the weight of metal parts almost always causes the plastic parts to suffer.
What makes the ultimate bumblebee a real hit is its ability to “come-to-life” and interact using its animatronic movements. This is made possible thru various electronic sensors integrated in it which works by responding to ambient sound and motion. More than these, the ultimate bumblebee showcases its detailed features such as an animated head, arms, and wings. It is also equipped with cannons and missiles. And the coolest feature of the bumblebee is the ability to utter phrases like “Let’s roll out” and “Take that Decepticon”. With all these features, no wonder that the ultimate bumblebee is one of the greatest interactive action figures to date.
Ultimate Bumblebee in Vehicle Mode
The ultimate bumblebee closely represents the fifth-generation concept Camaro. It is sleekly painted with the combinations of black (stripes), silver (gas intake, door handles, tailpipes, wiper, and Chevrolet logo), and gold (Chevrolet logo detail and Autobot emblem). It also has a touch of gray on its grille, windows, and windshield. When the ultimate bumblebee is turned “On”, the alt mode senses the motion of the car while pressing the Autobot insignia activates the sound of the engine starting up and eventually running and revving when in motion.
The ultimate bumblebee really moves and works like a true Camaro with headlights and fog lights lighting up while the engine’s sound changes as the speed is altered. The stopping motion also makes a realistic braking sound. When the ultimate bumblebee is stopped and is idle for awhile, it plays a radio sound, music or honks randomly.
The Transformation into the Ultimate Bumblebee Robot
The robot mode of the ultimate bumblebee is truly awesome! It has accurate individual parts with its head closely resembling to the movie, though it gets a bit too large on the car parts. The paint job is much the same when in vehicle mode, but with the appearance of more gray and silver parts.
Articulation is, however, limited and maybe this is because of its animatronic features. When turned on, it makes an animatronic sound and motion. Moving parts include a rotating head, swinging door wings at random angles, and a full range of movements of the elbows and shoulders. When the battle mode of the ultimate bumblebee is activated via the yellow button on the side of its body, it reacts by making a hydraulic-machine sound and battle noises. Pressing the button will make it aim its cannon arm and fire the missile as well.
With all that being said, if your child (or maybe even your husband :) ) is a transformer nut, the ultimate bumblebee really is a no brainer!
